‘Red Light’ Pinot Noir
Mosel, Germany A heartily berried, mineral and spiced German pinot noir with an iconic pop-art label. Dr. Ulrich ‘Ulli’ Stein is a huge advocate for the importance of passing on the care of the stunning, frighteningly steep, low-yield & slate-packed vineyards of the Mosel. FUN FACT! His label ‘mascot’ of sorts is called “die steinlaus” or “the stone louse”, a fictitious animal created by German humorist Loriot in 1976 to parody nature documentaries! The “Red Light” is their pinot noir “Kabinett Trocken”, translation – light + low alcohol + dry, focused on lift and showcasing crispy acidity. FUN FACT #2! Stein has some of the oldest pinot noir vines in the Mosel! A three-horsemen-of-red-fruits kinda expression, noble strawberries, charming cherries and whimsical raspberries, with rose bush, iron on stone & cola nut spice. Pour alongside your fave Jamaican beef patty.
