Laurence Mukakabera

Laurence Mukakabera's story is one of growth and resilience. Growing up in a coffee-growing family and later working a farm alongside her husband, Laurence, along with her two children, had to leave this behind when the Rwandan genocide claimed her husband's life. Later returning to find her land destroyed she has built and cultivated a diverse ecosystem with her coffee trees, livestock, and sustenance crops. Through the Dukunde Kawa Cooperative she has found support, community and ultimately family.
