Regency Silver Soup Tureen
A fine quality George III sterling silver soup tureen by William Bennett, hallmarked London 1808. Circular body on pedestal foot with domed lid with scrolling acanthus finial, two acanthus capped side handles and ovolo border. The lid engraved with a coat of arms with motto "Per Crucem Ad Strilas" on each side. The body engraved with a family crest and monogram JL on each side. 15" (38.1cm) across, 123.4 troy oz (3838g).
