"Albertine Told Everyone Good-Night and Accepted a Ride Home in the Comte's Carriage" An original oil painting on an antique, French, Limoges porcelain platter with a deep cobalt blue border and elaborate and delicate gold gilt lace fronts, leaves, ribbons, and scalloped edges; 16.5"x11.5". THE STORY: Inspired by literature, my portraits have novelistic titles that hint at the adventures of their heroines. THE CHINA: Many of my paintings are set in antique saucers and dishes which not only work as unexpected frames but add a layer of historical narrative on top of the origin story. Each piece has a unique blend, so that some are more romantic, some more exotic, and some more otherworldly.
