Discovered in the Thorsberg Moor of northern Germany and dating to the Roman Iron Age, the original garment survived for nearly 2,000 years thanks to the preservation of the peat bog. Made from 100% softened linen, our version faithfully follows the distinctive gusseted construction that gives these trousers their remarkable freedom of movement. We've made only two practical changes for modern wear: removing the attached "footies" and replacing the fitted waistband with an adjustable drawstring for a more comfortable fit.
