The Kernel Biere de Saison Raspberry 330ml (4.9%)
This iteration of The Kernel's house Biere de Saison had a low and fruity acidity, less citric than usual, less sharp. The base beer was refermented with 200g per litre of Kentish raspberries (frozen, fresh ones are so hard to handle) for 2 months. The aroma and flavour of the raspberries merge and meld with the saison in a lovely synchrony. The fruit grows, surrounded by grass, hay and bready malts. The acidity is appropriate: there, but not excessive. The raspberry retains its aura, though its sweetness is stripped away. Malt – Low Colour Maris Otter, Wheat Malt, Oats Hops – Hallertauer Hersbrucker Yeast – House Mixed Culture Fruit - Raspberries
