Salud to National Tequila Day: A Fresh Cocktail Class The Michigan Room Inside the Glass Academy 25331 Trowbridge St. Dearborn, MI 48124 June 25, 2025, 6PM Limited seating, get your tickets now! This event is to participate in a cocktail class and WATCH a glassblowing demonstration. If you would like to try glassblowing, you may click HERE to sign up for one of our glassblowing courses. This evening we’ll celebrate tequila--a liquor that is complex, peppery, smooth, and vegetal all at once. Once guests arrive and settle into the Michigan Room, local cocktail historian Beth Vandergrift will guide participants through the making of a signature cocktail created just for this event. Then, drink in hand, the group will move to the Hot Shop to attend a live glass-blowing demonstration during which the artists will create one of the glasses used during the class. For the final part of the evening, we’ll return to the Michigan Room to craft the classic Paloma. Throughout the evening Beth will lead a discussion on the history of tequila and related topics. Guests will end the evening with a renewed appreciation of Mexico’s native spirit, the recipes used during the class, and a memorable Hot Shop experience. Must be 21+ to attend. RULES & WHAT TO EXPECT You must be at least 21 years old to attend, IDs will be checked. Dress accordingly as our warehouse is cold in the winter, (we recommend bringing an extra layer), and warm in the spring and summer, (sandels are permitted). This cocktail class is designed to run 2 1/2 hours. There will be glass blowing classes happening simultaneously with the cocktail class, so you might get a peek at those before your demo. There will be light snacks provided. You are welcome to bring in food if you want something more substantial. There is ample free parking on Trowbridge St. in front of our building, as well as overflow parking on S. Gulley road right around the corner.
