Neo Primitive Stool 01

“Nature could one day disappear in the distant future” ‹Neo-primitive› is an object that materializes the individual uniqueness of trees which represents nature by aluminum casting. The collection shows a relationship between primitivity and modernity, and the boundary between nature and artifacts. It consists of a series of sculptural objects, chairs, and a table that are creatively carved using natural elements such as branches, twigs, and even a tree trunk. The elements are sand-casted into aluminum versions while preserving their shapes. The results have traces of nature itself but are made of an unchanging material aluminum, which gives a paradoxical and mysterious atmosphere. Designed and produced by the Seoul-based Sisan Lee.
