Pulse Acoustic Bass Trap - Obsidian™
The TECHLITE® Pulse Bass Trap in Obsidian™ is engineered to address low-frequency challenges where standard acoustic treatments fall short. Designed for placement in corners and boundary intersections, it targets bass accumulation and standing waves that impact clarity and tonal balance. For architects and interior designers, it integrates seamlessly into interior environments without disrupting visual intent. For sound engineers, it provides critical low-end control, stabilizing frequency response and improving overall acoustic accuracy. Constructed utilizing Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam, the Pulse Bass Trap delivers effective absorption across lower frequency ranges while maintaining a lightweight and structurally stable form for interior applications. Its open-cell structure supports balanced acoustic performance by reducing excessive bass energy, tightening sound response, and enhancing overall room definition in studios, performance spaces, corporate environments, and educational settings. The material is inherently flame resistant and achieves Class A fire-rated performance per ASTM E 84, meeting interior life-safety requirements. From a sustainability standpoint, the TECHLITE® Pulse Bass Trap aligns with environmentally responsible design strategies. Basotect® Ecobalanced Melamine Foam is produced using a reduced carbon footprint process and may contribute toward LEED-related credits, including low-emitting materials and responsible material sourcing. This ensures that advanced acoustic performance is achieved while supporting broader environmental objectives. Obsidian™ Coloration & Visual Character Obsidian™ is a deep, dark charcoal acoustic foam with subtle blue undertones. Depending on lighting conditions, it can range from a rich charcoal gray to a dark navy hue—and when installed in high ceilings or low-light environments, it presents as visually black. The result is an acoustic material that integrates seamlessly into contemporary architecture while delivering the performance Techlite® is known for. For applications requiring an ultimate, rich black appearance, Obsidian™ panels may be coated utilizing Techlite®’s proprietary paint system.
