8454 Meridian 207A/B Compact Disc Player & Transport — Matched Pair | Grade A, Excellent | Original Throughout | Fully Tested The Meridian 207 is a two-box compact disc player and integrated preamplifier designed and made in England by Boothroyd Stuart Limited, dating from 1987. Boothroyd Stuart — the company founded by Bob Stuart and Allen Boothroyd that traded under the Meridian name — occupied a genuinely pioneering position in British audio design throughout the 1980s, and the 207 series represented their most ambitious realisation of a complete CD-based music system at the time of its production. This example comprises a matched pair: the 207A transport and player unit (serial K204442A) and the 207B companion control and preamplifier unit (serial K204442B), connected by the original 25-way parallel interface cable as visible in the photographs. The matching serial numbers confirm these two units were supplied together as original pairs. Both have been checked and tested by Andrew in our workshop and are fully functional throughout. The units are in excellent cosmetic condition and are entirely original — the capacitors have not been replaced.
