Phoenix rising pendant

This phoenix enamel pendant features three pink sapphires in the shape of an inverted flame- a symbol of death, alluding to the dying of one self that makes way for a new one. The phoenix is hand painted with glass enamel. The glass enamel starts as a fine powder and is sifted in layers onto a copper base and fired at high temperatures in a kiln. The lines are then painted with a painting enamel that is also fired in a kiln. The end result is a highly detailed porcelain painting that is not affected by UV light or water! The enamel cabochon has been set in recycled sterling silver. The pendant comes on a solid 17 inch/ 43 cm chain. All the jump rings are soldered to ensure longevity.
