Fireheart

Many years ago, I created a horse watch called Wild and Free. The stallion was crafted from a rare ochre-colored shell that eventually became unavailable, making it impossible to recreate the design. For a time, I thought that chapter had come to an end. Then I discovered that the same horse, rendered in olive abalone against a field of glowing Tiger Pearl, became something entirely new. The horse hadn't changed but its spirit had. Fireheart celebrates that remarkable spirit, in addition to the stallion's strength and determination. Its fierce eye, flowing mane, and powerful presence create a sense of energy and forward motion. Horses have long symbolized freedom, courage, and the bond between instinct and purpose. Set against the fiery colors of the Tiger Pearl background, this horse feels alive with confidence and vitality. Process and Materials The dial is composed of 22 individually cut pieces of olive abalone shell, carefully inlaid by hand into the luminous Tiger Pearl background. As the light changes, the shell reveals flashes of gold, orange, green, and purple, creating remarkable depth and movement across the dial. A clear stone marks the 12 o'clock and a fire orange stone serves as the horse’s eye. The result is a watch that honors one of nature's most magnificent animals while embracing the bold energy that inspired its name. Case size: 35mm Band size: 16mm Swiss Quartz
