AMBLE - Riverbank picnics & coastline walks. Strolls by bike. Musical daydreams. Cooking outdoors. Make your own map. Courgette parmigiana. Pebble printing & shell art. Sending postcards. Blueberry margs-in-jars. How to do something. Canalside gardens. Growing for birds. Letterboxing. Harissa Butter Steak flatbreads. Seeking shush. July can be a busy, bustling kind of month; going places, getting things done before holidays, seeing out the school term. Less lethargic than August, more high summer than June, it’s a time made for ambling, if we remember to slow down a little. Blue space helps, be it strolling along a riverbank for a picnic, coming across a canal-side garden or enjoying the vista on a coastline wander. We can amble anywhere, of course, following interesting looking diversions on a map or seeking out quiet spaces away from summer crowds. This doesn’t mean a lack of purpose, it’s more about appreciating the joy of slow – the nostalgia of sending postcards, memorable music and statement T-shirts or making art from pebbles and shells. No need to travel far, ambling is like an everyday holiday. PLEASE NOTE: Copies will be posted from Wednesday 24 June along with other items in the same order.
