Katukina Nissural

Katukina Nissural is a traditional rapé blend built around the aromatic Nissural plant, a little-documented Amazonian herb used within Katukina and neighbouring Pano traditions. Although its precise botanical identification remains uncertain in published literature, Nissural is consistently described as having a fresh, cooling and slightly minty character. Blended with traditional Katukina tobacco and Tsunu ashes, Nissural contributes a clean herbal quality that complements the grounding depth of the tobacco base. Within Indigenous rapé practice, blends of this type are commonly used to promote clarity, focus and steadiness, and are traditionally associated with clearing heaviness, mental fog and discomfort such as headaches or lethargic states. The result is a balanced rapé with an aromatic profile that feels both refreshing and rooted, reflecting the Katukina’s longstanding knowledge of forest plants and ceremonial tobacco preparations.
