Fletch
It was the morning of 28th April in the year 1789. Fletch woke to the medicinal sound of the glistening water that was lapping on the golden shoreline. For those needing a more comprehensive location to set the scene, the coordinates are within around 100 metres or there abouts of 17’29’S / 149’30’W and no, that has not factored in tectonite plate movement or rising ocean levels. Having spent the previous evening contemplating his next and final move, as he woke, it was now clear to him what today would bring. Mutiny. Yes, that is right, today was going to be the day where he joined the elite gang of souls who under the rule of tyranny have said, bugger it, I am out, “Mutineers” and gave the royal bird to his Captain as a final act of rebellion to start his new life without Christmas cards. Old mate, Captain Bligh was a small man by stature, but also an evenly balanced man. He carried a chip on one shoulder as big as the one on the other and was not well liked. Fletcher Christian gathered his crew, and said, “Tally Ho, old boy!” and ditched their uniforms for their new attire from the Joe Bananas Summer of 1789 catalogue. To honour this most historical event in the South Pacific of the late 18th Century, we welcome back Fletch.
