SpillSmart Hazsorb is a loose particulate absorbent designed for cleaning up hazardous chemical spills. Made from vermiculite, it has great absorption properties and is more efficient than kitty litter and zeolite products. It is effective with Class 5 and Class 8 chemicals, most acids, coolants, solvents and oil. It's important to be aware of the properties of chemicals you are working with. Safety Data Sheets are a great source of information. Vermiculite, being inert, is often referred to in SDS documents as an absorbent capable of handling aggressive liquids. To clean up a spill, simply cover the spill with SpillSmart Hazsorb absorbent and agitate with a stiff broom. Use sufficient product until the mix is dry in appearance. Remove the used absorbent and dispose of it in accordance with local government regulations.
