CLASS DESCRIPTION: A sweet little tool for honey lovers, tea drinkers, and handmade kitchenware collectors. Turn a tiny spoonful of sweetness into a kitchen ritual. You’ll choose a design and learn how to create an impression on the hydraulic press. After soldering the design, you will add some color using mason stains, sifted enamel and wet packing enamel using the kiln. Finally, you’ll form your honey dipper by hand. You can create this functional piece of art in sterling silver, copper, or mixed metals. It’s fancy enough for tea rituals, blessing a charcuterie board, or creating an enchanted display; yet it’s perfectly functional for honey jars, morning tea, evening soother drink, or for gift giving. We’ll turn the day into a party with tea, sipping, snacks, and optional make your own beeswax candle. Materials Fee: $5 enamel and tools Estimated Metal Fee: copper $20, mixed metals $40, or sterling silver $70 (based on metal market price) Gift Package Items Available: • 6 Oz. Jar of Honey • Beeswax Reusable Wrap • Beeswax Candle • Assorted Harney & Sons Tea Packages • Gift bag Bee and honey-themed enameling tools and metal impressions will also be available for purchase. When: Sunday, June 7, 10 am – 2 pm Instructors: Marianne Goodell and Kelly Bussio
