Black Iris in the Sunshine

I have this special affinity with irises. Honestly I think everyone does. They are so graceful and gorgeous. These were given to me. A wonderful lady in our town put an ad in the paper that anyone who wanted them could come have the bulbs. I took everything that had the word "purple" in it's description. But these first ones in the spring just slay me. So then Hozier came out with this song, "Jackie and Wilson". There is a line about Isis (my dog's name) planting "black irises in the sunshine". Wilson is my dear friend and she was my garden-guru. Her dog was Jackie. There is a lot of love in this painting.
