Viola by Benjamin Banks 1778
A two-piece back made of well-ripled sycamore wood, with ribs of similar wood and a scroll of plainer maple. The front is made of local pine. It has original varnish and internal inscriptions. The instrument is in very good condition with some minor cracks and a cheek repair. It sounds excellent despite its size.
