Morning: Maths for Knitters We'll spend the morning conquering the numbers side of knitting — and discovering it's really not as scary as it looks. Kate will walk you through the maths that lives inside your patterns: counting, tracking, and working through those tricky instructions with confidence. We'll cover calculating yardage from partial balls, making sure you're buying the right amount of yarn for a project, and having a proper honest conversation about gauge — what it actually means, and what to do when you can't match it. Afternoon: Pattern Alteration After lunch, we'll roll up our sleeves and get into the wonderfully satisfying world of adapting patterns to suit you. Found a pattern you love but need to change the size? Want shorter sleeves, a longer body, or a different neckline? Kate will share her strategies for making alterations efficiently and confidently — including how to choose patterns that are easiest to modify, and how to use great designs as a jumping-off point for your own ideas. The Day Arrive at 10am and settle in for a day of knitting, numbers and a good few lightbulb moments. We'll provide a light lunch, plus tea, coffee and cake throughout the day — because every good workshop runs on cake. Who is this for?
