Join us for an artfully inspired Spring Tea at Life’s Patina Mercantile & Café on Sunday, May 17th from 4–6PM, as we celebrate the vibrant beauty of spring alongside our Artist in Residence, Jan Weir. Inspired by Jan’s expressive use of color, florals, and joyful seasonal palettes, this special afternoon is designed to feel like stepping into a spring painting brought to life — filled with fresh blooms, thoughtful details, lively conversation, and the simple pleasure of gathering together in a beautiful setting. Spring arrives in a palette of soft pastels, vibrant blooms, fresh greenery, and golden afternoon light — a season that invites us to gather, celebrate beauty, and embrace the feeling of renewal all around us. This thoughtfully curated tea experience is designed to capture that spirit through artful details, seasonal flavors, and an atmosphere inspired by the creativity and color of the season. The afternoon will begin with a delicate amuse-bouche paired with a handcrafted seasonal spritzer — bright, botanical, and refreshing. Guests are also welcome to bring their own bottle of champagne should they wish to add an extra touch of sparkle to the occasion. From there, guests will select from our curated collection of loose-leaf teas featuring classic black teas, calming herbal blends, delicate florals, and fresh green teas inspired by the season. Each tea will be steeped and served in our traditional teapots to enjoy throughout the afternoon. Our spring menu will be presented on signature tiered trays styled with the artistry and abundance of the season in mind. Expect delicate finger sandwiches layered with garden herbs and seasonal vegetables, warm savory bites, and an assortment of petite sweets inspired by citrus, berries, edible florals, and soft spring colors — each thoughtfully crafted to feel fresh, vibrant, and celebratory. Surrounded by fresh flowers and Jan Weir’s beautiful artwork, this gathering is intended to feel both inspiring and unhurried — a joyful celebration of art, beauty, community, and the colorful arrival of spring. Guests will also receive a small take-home gift to remember the afternoon. Frequently Asked Questions… Can I sit with my friend who is also purchasing a ticket? Tables will be set for two to create an intimate experience. However, for guests wishing to enjoy tea with friends, we are happy to accommodate up to four guests per table. Each ticket includes: • A personal pot of tea • A handcrafted seasonal spritzer • A beautifully styled tiered tray filled with sweet and savory bites, all made in-house • A small take-home gift Can you accommodate dietary restrictions? Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate dietary restrictions for this event. Is there an age restriction? This event is open to guests ages 7 and up. Is there parking? Yes. Parking is available on either side of our building, out front, in the field across the street, and near the Municipal Building. Is gratuity included in the ticket price? Yes, gratuity is included in the ticket price. However, if you feel you received exceptional service, you are always welcome to leave additional cash gratuity for our servers at your table.
