Grown by Nelson Cruz and his family in Laguna Verde, Huila, this washed Castillo lot represents the beginning of Tectonic Coffee’s direct-trade journey with La Planada — and Head Roaster Danny Castrellon’s first trip to origin. After a 48-hour fermentation and careful washed processing with the water-conscious Ecowasher system, the cup opens with delicate white floral aromatics before revealing notes of ripe yellow plum and white tea. Elegant, expressive, and deeply tied to place, this coffee is our first chapter with the Cruz family, and one we’re proud to share.
