How Then Shall We Live?

Commissioned by First Baptist Church, Waco, TX to commemorate its 175th anniversary, “How Then Shall We Live?” reflectively takes stock of who a church is, where it comes from, and how its mission is reflected in the lives of the church. The anthem grows from a quiet opening question to a full-throated affirmation that the Church is the bride of Christ, called to serve and to love its neighbors, “wherever, whomever they may be.” The anthem is well-suited for any service focused on the Church as the Bride of Christ.
