Softglass Full Borosilicate Glass and Silicone "Core Series" Hand Pipe

SOFTGLASS Softglass is an interesting name for a brand specialising in glassware used primarily for smoking and I held off for a while whilst I spent time educating myself. The design element and ease of cleaning drew me towards this particular brand. Justin Cohen is the designer, an award winning industrial designer with a minimalist aesthetic. Designed and engineered in the USA. SOFT GLASS??? Soft Glass is also known as Soda Glass, think of a glass bottle as opposed to tougher Pyrex (Borosilicate glass). Both types are used extensively in many industries with soft glass dominating due to its affordability. CORE HAND PIPE 2 material have been used to craft this hand pipe - borosilicate glass and platinum cured silicone. The body of the entire pipe is glass with silicone used to help keep you and the pipe safe. I would place this pipe into the "Spoon" category bases upon it's simple facing upright design. You will find the shotty (carb hole) to one side of the bowl. This bowl is built-in, a deep and quite roomy depression that will hold a substantial load. The neck extends out to one side culminating in a smooth and rounded off mouthpiece. The included silicone components can all be removed from the glass, 3 in total. I would leave them in place unless cleaning. One slips around the base of the spoon creating a stable pedestal offering shock absorption with another protecting the neck and providing grip. Look closely and you will also see a small metal tool siting within this sleeve. The third piece is a cap that completely closes off the bowl for travel and odour control. This cap slots seamlessly into the base when not in use.
