This Qin Quan shape Yixing teapot is fully handmade by Yixing-certified artist Jiang Wei, combining precision and artistry. It's made of the rare red Jiangpo clay, and its Qin Quan shape reflects classic Chinese style. The body of this 140ml sized, small teapot features three engraved calligraphic poems and delicate floral branches, which contrasts nicely with the teapot’s bold, geometric shape. The Material: Rare Red Jiangpo Clay Red Jiangpo clay comes from the mineral-rich area where the Huanglong and Qinglong Mountains meet. Discovered accidentally during road construction in the 1990s, this special clay is made from red, duan, and purple clays. Once fired, the clay shows a warm red color with a hint of yellow. Its surface has a pear-skin texture and is dotted with golden granules, giving it a unique feel and visual appeal. The Form: The Historic “Qin Quan” Shape The Qin Quan (Qin Dynasty Weight) shape is a tribute to the unification of China. Inspired by the bronze weights used on scales during the Qin Dynasty, this teapot silhouette embodies stability, authority, and minimalist elegance. The teapot features a tall, cylindrical body, a slightly raised lid, and a bridge-shaped knob. Its short spout and sturdy ring handle ensure a balanced, ergonomic pour. The tall body and narrowed mouth are expertly designed for heat retention. This makes the Qin Quan particularly well-suited for oolongs and pu erh teas.
