New Day Beach Towel
In crystal-clear blues and sandy tans, Anishinaabe-Ojibwe artist Giizh Agaton Howes has brought forward the Native practice of making the everyday beautiful in her New Day Beach Towel. Giizh was inspired by her community's historic beadwork and loom patterns to create her New Day design. “We have always loved to adorn our lives with the practical and beautiful,” shares Giizh, who has turned a summer staple—a beach towel—into a work of useable art. The idea of creating a modern design based on historic weaving techniques and patterns has special significance for Giizh. “As Native people, we weave together the traditional and the modern with our way of doing business, with our values, with our arts, and with our many different ways of life. This design proudly carries forward our weaving tradition in a modern way.” "Beach sized" 40" X 70"/ 101.6cm x 177.8cm 100% cotton Colors include shades of blue, tan, and creamy white Jacquard weave Two-sided Imported We recommend washing before use—our plush towels tend to shed for a few wash cycles!
