Christine Lafuente – Why Paint Flowers? Composition, Color, and the Pleasure of Painting from Life (Online); June 23, June 25 & June 30, 2026
Medium: Oil or acrylic Level: All levels welcome Class Dates: June 23, June 25 & June 30, 2026 Class Times: • 10:30 am-1:00 pm Pacific time • 1:30 pm-4:00 pm Eastern time • 6:30 pm-9:00 pm UK time A flower is a wondrous life to behold and we will take the time to see it evolve from fresh bloom to wilted grace. Day 1 will cover composition, ways to consider arrangement of the tabletop or position in the garden, and the START of a painting. Day 2 will cover oil color, palette arrangement, mixing, and how to translate visual experience into tone and abstraction. Day 3 will be all things painterly: viscosity, brush-loading, and wet-into-wet painting. Classes will include lecture, demo, and Q&A. Just come with your notebook. Classes are recorded. Between classes share your paintings on the message board and enjoy all the time you can with your models: roses, peonies, tulips, cherry blossoms, daisies, iris!
