VS4-10 Origin Classic/Pro Dual Shear Shock Mounts
Dual Shear shock mounts add some style and strength to your VS4-10 Origin Classic shock mounts. They are designed to work with the DERP system. Not compatible with body post style shock mounts found on “OG” VS4-10 Origin/Half Cab kits. These are not really necessary but are a fun accessory! Made of 1.6mm 6061 aluminum Anodized, brushed finish available in black, clear or blue Sold as a set of 4. Includes (6) M3x25mm SHCS, (2) 16mm BHCS, (6) 3D printed 8mm spacers, (4) M3x20mm SHCS and (4) 3D Printed 2mm spacers Aluminum M3 spacers are widely available and can be used in place of the 3D printed spacers (aluminum spacers not included) Maximum recommended tire size: 4.75" *Due to a change in requirements from the anodizing provider, these parts are no longer able to be produced with an anodized finish. Limited to stock on hand. A raw aluminum version will be available soon* Installation Instructions: For Front Mounts: Remove the wheel. The body can also be removed but not required Remove the upper shock mount screw. Use care not to lose connection of the driveshaft Remove the (2) M3x16mm SHCS holding the inner fender to the chassis Place included M3x20mm SHCS through the aluminum dual shear mount and 2mm spacer and upper shock pivot. Install the mount and spacer and shock on to the chassis in your desired position. The 2mm spacer allows clearance for the shock body when using the upper row of mount holes. If using the lower row of shock mount holes, the 2mm spacer is not necessary. In that case you may prefer to reuse the stock M3x16mm SHCS Place (1) 8mm spacer behind the front mount tab and secure with included M3x25mm SHCS For the rear mount tab, use the included M3x16mm Button Head Cap Screw with no spacer. The tab has a slight bend to allow for maximum tire clearance. Confirm all hardware has been tightened. When mounted correctly, there will be a taper to the rear mount tab to allow for tire clearance at full lock/compression Repeat for the other front shock. It is easiest to do one at a time For Rear Mounts: Remove the wheel. The body can also be removed but not required Remove the upper shock mount screw. It is easiest to do one at a time Reinstall wheels (and body, if applicable) and enjoy! When installed correctly, the lettering should be legible, not backwards, and facing the outside of the vehicle. Front mounts, letters forward. Rear mounts, letter to the rear. The front mounts will have a slight taper on the rearward mount tab. This is necessary for maximum tire clearance. *If installing while building the chassis, install during step G1, G2 (Classic manual page 17) *These parts are manufactured on a parts sprue in order to reach the minimum size required for anodizing. Each part has a small section of raw aluminum at the top where it was cut off of the parts sprue. This is not visible when installed on the truck. An appropriately colored Sharpie can be used to hide this blemish NOTE: Due to the nature of anodizing aluminum, the shade of color may vary MADE IN THE USA
