KENYA KARATU AA YELLOW PLUM, ORANGE ZEST, APRICOT Oh baby Kenya is back and we're off to a delicious start. Karatu Coffee Factory was established in 1965 and serves smallholder producers from the surrounding Karatu, Gitwe, Kibiru, and Kigaa villages. Cherries are delivered to the factory, depulped, fermented, washed, and dried on raised beds for up to 15 days depending on weather and volume. The result is a bright, citrusy, and layered Kenya with a lively stone fruit profile. Kiambu sits just north of Nairobi and is a lesser-known coffee locale compared with regions like Nyeri or Kirinyaga, but these two lots show exactly why we’re excited about it: clean structure, bright fruit, and classic Kenya-style clarity.
