The Second Chalet Book for Girls was first published in 1948 and contains Tom Tackles the Chalet School (the first half of the actual book), serialised through this book Smells of Soot (a Chalet School story) Joey’s Convict (a Chalet School story) Beth’s Diary (a Chalet School story) The Midnight That Didn’t Come Off (a Chalet School story) The Chalet Girls Cookery Book (a Chalet School story) Peter and The Pumpkin (a short story) 7 articles, some of which were written by Elinor Brent-Dyer GGBP have published Tom Tackles The Chalet School in 2004 and 2017 and the short stories and some of the articles were published in 2004 in Elinor Brent-Dyer’s Short Stories. The book as a whole has not been re-published before. There are numerous black and white illustrations and Beth’s Diary is illustrated with black and white photographs. The Second Chalet Book for Girls is in our larger format. It will be published in July. 4 June it is being typeset now.
