Begonia ignita
Begonia ignita is a remarkable species, the only Indonesian begonia known to bear flowers of a fiery bright orange, hence its name. Its symmetrical, heart-shaped leaves emerge deep red with yellow edging before maturing to vivid green, making it a season-long spectacle. Origins Begonia ignita is endemic to Sulawesi, Indonesia, where it grows in the warm, humid forests of this biodiverse island. It was newly described to science in 2017. Soil and Substrate Our Simply Houseplant Potting Mix provides a peat-free, free-draining blend that supports these forest roots in ambient household humidity.
