A warm taupe that shows its age, on a case cut for the M11 The Taupe Gloss FlexCase is Italian vegetable tanned leather in a warm taupe, wrapped around a precision machined base plate for the Leica M11 and M EV1. The plate is the engineering: a concealed Arca profile, an AirTag compartment, two quarter twenty threads and full access to the battery, the card and the USB-C port without lifting the camera out. Choose the plate in aircraft aluminum, Black Chrome or Silver Chrome, or in solid brass, natural or black patina. Produced in very small batches, so a colour runs until the hide is gone. The edges are painted, sanded and finished three times across 72 hours, which is the part that survives a bag. The M11 D has its own FlexCase, because the plate is machined to the body it sits under. The case stays on. Battery, SD card and USB-C are all reachable without taking the camera out of the leather. A dry cloth for dust, a barely damp one for anything else, then let it dry flat. Conditioner. Sparingly, and never on the edges. A gloss finish needs far less than a matte one. The patina is the point. The leather darkens and marks with use. That is the material working, not the case wearing out. Do I have to take it off to change the battery or the card?No. The base plate stays bolted on and the compartment opens with the case fitted. Aluminum or brass?Aluminum keeps the camera light and comes in Black Chrome or Silver Chrome. Brass is the heavier of the two and is offered solid or in a black patina, which ages rather than staying uniform. Will my case look exactly like the photographs?Close, not identical. Vegetable tanned leather varies in grain and tone by nature, so colour shifts slightly from piece to piece. Does it work on a tripod without coming off?Yes. The Arca profile is cut into the plate itself. Does it fit the M11 D?No. The M11 D has its own FlexCase.
