The Courtyard of the Old Residency in Munich
The Courtyard of the Old Residency in Munich is a watercolor painted by Adolf Hitler in 1914, inscribed "München — Alter Hof". It shows the inner courtyard of the Alter Hof, the medieval first residence of the Wittelsbach rulers, with its stone fountain, bay turret, and steep tiled roofs recorded in the dry, architectural manner of a postcard view. From May 1913 to August 1914, Hitler lived in Munich and supported himself by painting city views for tourists, frame shops, and private clients. Works from this period — painted immediately before World War I and long before his political career — are handled today by auction houses, archives, and museums as documents of historical record. This reproduction is offered as a historical document. It is 100% hand-painted in oil on canvas by professional artists, using high-quality materials and museum-grade attention to detail, and is available in multiple sizes with optional frames.
