Black Vaughn (Off dry, pet nat cider, 2023)

Tasting notes Off-dry and naturally sparkling, this small batch cider is made with Court Royal apples. Mouth filling fizz gives way to a wave of flavour reminiscent of oranges and tropical fruit. The story behind the cider Legend has it that the headless ghost of Black Vaughn, a notoriously cruel 15th Century Herefordian Lord is trapped in a silver snuff box, sunk and weighted under a stone in Hergest Pool mere metres from the estate orchard from where this cider came. Never an orchard that we like to dwell in as the light fades, apparently Black Vaughn’s ghostly dog still prowls between the trees ever seeking his master. Everything is packed and shipped by us (Tom and Lydia) at the cidery and we aim to get all orders out within two days of purchase. If you need your cider more quickly, get in touch and we'll do our best to help! Orders are shipped via Parcel Force on a 48hr delivery service. Does the cider have a use by date? Unopened and stored in a cool, dry place our cider will be good to drink for around three years As a general rule, like wine, cider has excellent capacity for ageing. If the cider has been opened we recommend sealing with a champagne stopper and storing in the fridge for no more than 24 hours. Is the cider vegan friendly? Yes, our only ingredient is apples! Is the cider organic? We only use organically grown, unsprayed apples in our cider. Due to the number of orchards we care for belonging to other people we are not able to officially certify ourselves organic at this point in time. Does the cider contain sulphites?
