In 1921, Bernard-Albin Gras created a range of lamps for industryand design offices. La Lampe Gras is remarkable for its ergonomicsand the simplicity of its mechanics – no screws, no welding – givingit unparalleled robustness. Very quickly, Le Corbusier, captivated bythe modernity of its design and its usability, adopted La Lampe Grasrange and integrated it into his agency as well as in his numerousprojects around the world.La Lampe Gras then entered the legend. Following Le Corbusierwere Robert Mallet-Stevens, Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann, Eileen Gray,but also Sonia Delaunay, Georges Braque... It was the first time inthe history of lighting that a lamp was used in workshops, houses,and apartments.
