You’re Allowed to Rest This painting is for the moment I think every busy woman craves, but rarely lets herself take. The moment where you stop. Where nobody needs anything from you. There’s nowhere you need to be, nothing you need to fix and nothing you need to tick off a list. You simply get to rest. Escaping the Noise is about giving yourself permission to switch off for a while and let everything else wait. I wanted every detail of this painting, the floating waterlilies, the dragonflies, her closed eyes and the movement of her dress, to bring a sense of stillness into the room. Because sometimes we don’t need to do more. Sometimes we just need a little space to be. I hope that every time you look at her, she reminds you that you’re allowed to take it.
