Hughes & Hughes Syrah 2024

Crafted from select vineyards across Southern Tasmania, the Hughes + Hughes Syrah is an elegant cool-climate red that showcases the finesse and purity of this increasingly celebrated Australian wine region. Wild yeast fermentation, partial whole-bunch inclusion and maturation in seasoned French oak create a beautifully balanced Syrah with fragrant aromatics, savoury complexity and exceptional length. Lifted aromas of wild blackberry, mulberry, cracked black pepper and violet are complemented by hints of olive tapenade and subtle spice. The silky, medium-bodied palate delivers vibrant red and black fruit, fine chalky tannins and a long, mineral-driven finish. Perfect alongside lamb cutlets, duck, mushroom dishes or chargrilled vegetables, this Tasmanian Syrah is drinking beautifully now and will continue to develop added savoury complexity over the next 6–8 years.
