This saw was made while Henry Disston himself still ran the company. The medallion and the etch both show "H. Disston" which dates the saw precisely to 1865. Before that, all saw plates were stamped, not etched. After 1865, the name was changed to "Henry Disston and Son" when his son Hamilton joined the company management. This saw has been cleaned by a previous owner, but is straight and in good condition. All of the teeth are intact. The handle was also repaired by a previous owner. Though the repairs are visible, it is solidly done and will last many more years. The 5ppi rip teeth have been freshly sharpened: Tooth Type: rip Rake Angle: 7º Fleam Angle: 0º Slope Angle: 0º Tooth Set: 0.007"
