The Story Trained in Bordeaux at legendary estates like Cos d’Estournel, Grégory Pérez chose to carve out his own path in the wild, dramatic landscape of Bierzo, founding Bodegas Mengoba to make wines as natural and reflective of terroir as possible. Working with native yeasts and minimal intervention, Grégory draws from small plots of 20- to 80-year-old vines planted in sandy loam, clay, and slate at 500+ meters elevation. By blending mountain-grown Godello with a dash of rare, native Doña Blanca, he captures the true, unvarnished spirit of Bierzo’s cool Atlantic-Continental climate.
