Originally trained as an ornamental metalworker, he brought a deeply structural, experimental, and sculptural sensibility to Scandinavian illumination design. He began his career as an authorized blacksmith and artisan metalsmith. This gave him a profound, hands-on mastery over metals like copper, brass, and steel. It is widely believed that he conceptualised lighting for established legacy brands such as Fog & Mørup and Lyfa during the early 1950s. He later founded Holm-Sørensen & Co. to manufacture and distribute his own extensive and diverse lighting collections Condition Report Fully re wired with modern electrical components, the brass surfaces have some patina but overall very good condition As with all of our products this product is an original piece and has lived a life before it arrived at Otto's HQ.
