Girolamo Russo Etna Rosso 'Feudo' 2020

Girolamo Russo Etna Rosso 'Feudo' 2020 is produced by Giuseppe Russo on the north slope of Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy. The wine is made of Nerello Mascalese with about 5% Nerello Cappuccio, grown in the contrada of Feudo (Randazzo) at about 650 meters above sea level. The soil is an old, weathered lava flow, with vines planted by massal selection in the 1950s; grapes are picked by hand in late October, mostly de-stemmed, crushed, and fermented using indigenous yeasts. Giuseppe and his staff farm the estate organically.
