A delicate Art Nouveau era festoon necklace, hand fabricated in platinum, whose shapely trefoil pendant centers on a daisy-like flower. This daisy's six petals are represented by natural baroque Mississippi river pearls, each with a unique shape, and fine, iridescent nacre. At the flower's center, a small old European cut diamond is held in four prongs. Behind our daisy, each lobe of the pendant's trefoil base frames a budded flower (here a single pearl), with a stem and a two curling leaves. A fine platinum chain supports the pendant— this is decorated with seed pearl stations, and features a single pair of elegant festoons. An elongated pearl swag drops from the base of the pendant. Closure is the necklace's original spring ring. We love the very white, serene quality of this old beauty, and its meticulous hand-fabricated details! Each of the little granulated beads that top the hand-sawn curls inside the trefoil . . . evidence of the smith's files— these tiny, perfect elements reveal themselves upon close inspection. It is exceptionally rare to find a necklace like this made wholly in platinum. This is easy to wear, with very little of the challenging tangling that one usually encounters with a festoon necklace. Materials Platinum Pearl Diamond Age c. 1910 Dimensions Wearable length measures approx 16 3/4"; flower measures approx 11.5 - 12 mm; trefoil panel measures approx 28.5 x 19.5 mm; diamond measures approx 2.3 mm; pearl "buds" (3) measure approx 3.5 mm; pearl drop measures approx 9.8 mm long.
