Kishu lacquerware is one of Japan's top three lacquerware crafts, and this bento box has been made by kishu craftsman. Kumiko woodworking techniques have also been used to assemble this bento box as you can see from the joinery in the corners. At 500ml, it is compact and perfect to pack a Japanese style bento of rice and some sides. The fragrance of the wood enhances the flavour of the rice, just the way the Japanese like it.
