Crane Wife takes its name from Tsuru Nyōbō, the Japanese folktale of a crane who marries the man who saved her and weaves cloth from her own feathers until she must return to her true form. Kuremoto translates this story of devotion and transformation into a slender, hand-built stoneware vessel whose elongated silhouette recalls the bird at rest. Each numbered piece in the series is individually made and unique.
