Intake Valve Guide and Seal Fits Kohler CH25 CH740

One intake valve guide and one valve stem seal that fit the Kohler CH18, CH20, CH22, CH23, CH25, CH730 and CH740 twin-cylinder engines. These engines fit a stem seal to the intake valve only. A worn guide lets oil down the valve stem, which shows as smoke on start up and oil use with no outside leak. Guide inside diameter when new is 7.038 to 7.058mm; replace the intake guide at 7.134mm. The old guide is pressed out, the new one pressed in to the correct height and finished to size, and the seat is cut afterward so it runs true to the new guide, so installation by a qualified technician is recommended. Fit the seal last, with the valve stem lubricated so the lip is not cut. INTAKE VALVE GUIDE AND STEM SEAL - One of each, for the intake valve of one cylinder. Read the model and spec numbers off the blower housing decal. WHEN A GUIDE IS DUE - Smoke on start up and oil use with no outside leak, after a new stem seal has not cured it, points to a worn guide. A MACHINE SHOP JOB - The old guide is pressed out, the new one pressed in to the correct height and finished to size, and the seat is cut afterward so it runs true to the new guide. Installation by a qualified technician is recommended. THE SEAL GOES ON LAST - Fit the stem seal squarely once the guide work is done, and lubricate the valve stem before it goes through so the lip is not cut. Turn the engine over by hand before the first start.
