Reclaimed elm is a dense hardwood with decades of history in every board — fine, tight, straight grain with small dark pin knots. It's naturally deeper in tone and denser than pine, and shows its character in the subtle figure of the grain rather than in cracks or gaps. Choose Rustic Weathered to keep the original textured surface of the reclaimed board, where wax settles into the natural relief for a deep, two-tone finish. Choose Modern Planed for a smooth, even surface where the tight elm grain reads as pattern alone — refined and contemporary. To enhance its industrial aesthetic, the table is supported by Spider legs that exude strength and stability. Additional Information Design your own dining table with our configurable options. Solid reclaimed elm tabletop, 45mm thick — a dense hardwood with fine, straight grain and small dark pin knots. Both the table and bench have hand-fabricated legs made from 100x50mm box steel, 3mm thickness. We weld our table legs by hand, which means we can ensure the welds penetrate the steel, making them unbreakable. Plastic feet offer floor protection; additional felt pads can be used if required. The dimensions, colour and finish of your table can be made completely bespoke. As standard the steel is left raw with a rust-proof clear lacquer applied. We can apply powder coating to the steel in any RAL colour on request. The table & bench top is sanded and finished with Fiddes Supreme Wax Polish — with an optional clear matt Hard Wax Oil upgrade for extra protection against heat, UV, spillages and scratches. Leg Design & Finish Box Steel Spider Leg Design Both the table and bench have hand-fabricated spider legs made from chunky 80x40mm box section steel, which is 3mm thick. Other box section sizes are available on request. Box Steel Finish Powder Coating — If you prefer a powder-coated finish we can accommodate any RAL colour. Standard powder coat finishes of matte black and gloss black are available via the product options. Timber Finish We carefully and generously apply two coats of Fiddes Supreme Wax Polish, with an optional upgrade of clear matt Hard Wax Oil. The wax polish enriches the dense elm grain and deepens the two-tone character on Rustic Weathered surfaces, while drawing out the tight, straight figure on Modern Planed tops. The Hard Wax Oil provides an extra layer of protection against heat, UV, spillages and scratches — we still recommend using coasters and place mats.
