Gear packed • batteries charged • head clear. Payload is the pre-flight coffee: for the photographer loading the case, the drone pilot checking the batteries, the film crew on a 5 a.m. call. A single-origin Colombian espresso — full-bodied and velvety, with just enough fruit to keep you sharp without the edge. Field strength rating: IP67. Tasting notes Chocolate, almond, yellow plum. Black, it's juicy and smooth; with milk it leans dessert. No sharp acidity, no ashy roast bitterness — a clean, sweet cup that works on the first sip and on the fourth refill. The coffee Origin: Colombia, Belén de Umbría, Risaralda — a group of 30 smallholder farmers, approx. 1,500 m a.s.l. Variety: Castillo, Caturra, Colombia Processing: washed Composition: 100% arabica, Q-grade 84.00 Roast: medium (city roast) — 3/5 on the roaster's scale Profile: sweetness 4/5 · acidity 2/5 · body 4/5 · caffeine 3/5 Ingredients: 100% coffee, no additives Net weight: 250 g, whole bean Why Colombia, why washed Colombia's coffee belt sits high, with volcanic soil and two harvests a year, which is why its washed arabicas are the benchmark for a balanced espresso: enough sweetness to carry milk, enough structure to stand alone. Washed processing strips the fruit before drying, so what you taste is the bean itself — clean chocolate and nut rather than the heavy fermented notes of a natural. Belén de Umbría, in the Risaralda hills, is a cooperative of small family farms; buying their lots together keeps the quality consistent from batch to batch and the money in the village. How to brew Roasted for pressure: espresso machine (manual or automatic) and moka pot. Works as a clean straight espresso and holds up well in a flat white. Espresso (starting recipe): 18 g in, 36–40 g out, 26–30 s, water 92–94 °C. Tastes thin or sour → grind finer or pull longer; bitter or dry → grind coarser or lower the temperature. Moka pot: medium-fine grind, fill the basket level without tamping, remove from heat as soon as the stream turns pale. Automatic bean-to-cup machine: set strength to high, grind 2–3 notches finer than default; the roast is light enough that the grinder will not clog. AeroPress / French press: drinkable, but this is an espresso roast — for filter brewing pick Uptime 99.9, Overland or First Light from the line. Caffeine and timing Medium caffeine (3/5). A double shot keeps you awake through a shoot without the jitters that spoil a steady hand on the gimbal or the sticks. If you need the blunt instrument for a night sort, that's Blackout. Payload is for the morning you have to get right. Who it's for Photographers, videographers, drone operators — anyone who packs a Peli Air before the sun comes up. Pairs naturally with a camera case; ask us about bundles. It is also the safest gift in the range: a crowd-pleasing espresso in a bag that looks good on a bench next to the batteries. Roasted in Poland Drava Field Coffee is roasted to order by a specialty roastery in Kraków, in small batches, from beans graded above 80 points SCA. Packed in a one-way-valve bag with the roast date on the label. For best results use within 6 weeks of roasting. Storage Keep the bag sealed, away from light and heat — a drawer, not the fridge. The one-way valve lets CO₂ out and no air in, so the beans stay fresh without any extra container. Grind only what you need for each shot; ground coffee goes flat within minutes. Payload vs. the rest of the line Payload — Colombia, single origin, chocolate and plum. The all-day espresso. Stand-To — tiramisu-style blend, sweet and creamy, built for milk drinks. Blackout — Brazil, deep chocolate, heavier body. The night shift. Fireline — Brazil, caramel and toffee, soft and sweet. Uptime 99.9 / Overland / First Light — filter roasts for pour-over, AeroPress and drip. See the whole line: Drava Field Coffee. FAQ Is it ground? No — whole bean only, so it stays fresh. Grinding is the one upgrade that beats any coffee. Decaf? Not in this line. All seven are caffeinated. Roast date? Printed on the label. Orders are roasted to demand, so you receive a current batch, not shelf stock. What is IP67 on the bag? Our own field strength scale, not a certification — see below. IP67 is our field strength rating — a measure of kick, not an ingress protection certification. For protective cases that actually carry an IP67 rating, see our Peli range.
