Drawing Nature's Treasure: An Exercise in Mindfulness (WildRoots Festival)
Saturday October 10th at 11am @ the WildRoots Festival Join artist and art educator Vivian Blackwood for a casual, beginner friendly class to practice drawing from a collection of objects from nature: plants, mushrooms, skulls, bones, shells, fossils, feathers and more! Drawing quiets the mind, anchors your attention in the present moment, and reduces stress. The goal is not to aim for perfection, or produce a masterpiece, it is to allow yourself this time to engage your mind and body with the ancient practice of mark marking, while being inspired by the beauty and wonder of nature. Close looking is a valuable skill for us all to practice, and especially those learning about herbalism, foraging and hunting. Family friendly ~ Beginner friendly ~ All Ages Class length: 45 mins Children under 5: Free Children 6-18 years: $10 Adults: $25 Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult
