Kenya "Nyeri Ndaroini AB"
Nestled in the foothills of Mt. Kenya, Nyeri is renowned for producing some of the finest coffees in the world. The region’s high elevation, mineral-rich volcanic soil, cool temperatures, and consistent rainfall create ideal conditions for growing exceptional coffee. Ndaroini Farmers Cooperative Society is made up of small-scale farmers, each tending an average of one acre of land with approximately 200 coffee trees. After separating from the Gikanda Farmers Cooperative Society three harvests ago, Ndaroini became an independent cooperative while maintaining its commitment to quality and traditional processing methods. A recent upgrade to a water-efficient eco-pulper has significantly reduced water consumption during processing, with water sourced from the nearby Ragati River. Once fully washed and fermented, the coffee is dried on raised beds for 10 to 14 days before being conditioned to stabilize its moisture content and flavours. Artwork by Nic Martin
