A limited edition tin of Sicilian boutique ground coffee by Morettino featuring 'Il Moro'. The beautiful design on this cylindrical tin has been created by Alice Valenti, an internationally renowned artist that has previous worked alongside designers like Dolce & Gabbana and brands like Smeg. The story 'Testa di Moro' is a famous Sicilian tale about a young girl that falls in love with a Moor. After discovering that he is married and has a family, she chops off his head and places it on her balcony. She turns his head into a vase and goes on to grow basil from it. Originating from the 11th century, this popular story has become folklore. Today you can see these ceramic heads on balconies all over Sicily. Ideal for moka pots, french press, filter coffee makers, espresso machines. Morettino has created artisanal coffee since 1920 in Palermo, Sicily. Taking much pride in their slow, traditional roasting methods. As an ongoing experimental project, for the last 30 years, Morettino have started to grow coffee trees on the island of Sicily.
